What we have logged on Basetao own pages
Not news. This is a record of what we read on the official site, when we read it, and where two of its own pages disagree. Every claim elsewhere on this guide traces back to one of these readings.
Re-read on 2026-10-10: the measurement fee has halved
This is the first figure on the site to change since we started, and it is the one the whole middle of this guide rests on. On 2026-08-04 the Why choose Basetao grid put the measurement handling fee at 3 CNY. Read again on 2026-10-10, the same card on the same page says 1.5 CNY.
The recorded 10 October 2026 screenshot shows 1.5 CNY. Confirm the charge in your own order before requesting the service.
Three other readings were confirmed unchanged the same day: the 1 CNY Search for me fee with its refund if the item is not found, the purchasing ban list in the FAQ, and the shipping ban list on the parcel page, which still names gun shaped products, liquids, lighters, powder, computers, laptops, phones, loose batteries and anything longer than 1.5 m, together with the statement that Basetao holds no import qualifications.
Findings from the reading of 2026-08-04
All five were read on the same day, on basetao.com, in English. Where wording is quoted it is quoted closely enough to be checked against the source.

| The inspection standards page names its own exclusions | Colour difference, actual size against the label and user experience are all stated as outside the inspection scope, and electronics are described as externally inspected only, with functional issues explicitly not covered by the insurance policy. | The return window starts when the warehouse receives the parcel | Not when you see the photographs, and not when you receive the item. The policy page puts it at seven days from the day Basetao receives it, and adds that choosing the remove packaging option at order time means the item is no longer in original condition. Both facts change how a find should be handled on arrival day. |
| An arrived item still showing as Ordered is a defect signal | The storage section of the help centre says that when an item has arrived and has quality control pictures but is still in the Ordered section, it usually means the agent found a flaw, and advises checking the messages and pictures. It is the kind of thing that only appears in a help centre answer, never in marketing copy. |

How we handle a disagreement between two official pages
We publish both readings and say which page each came from. We do not pick the more generous one, and we do not quietly average them.
The reason is practical rather than principled: when you ask support about it, you want to be able to point at the exact sentence you are asking about. A guide that has smoothed the contradiction away has taken that ability from you.
